Our Process

Here are the steps that we take to ensure that your floors make a shining first impression on your customers:

Gather the necessary supplies and equipment:
- Floor stripper
- Wax or finish remover
- Wet/dry vacuum cleaner
- Scrubbing pads or brushes
- Mop and bucket
- Floor buffer or scrubbing machine
- Squeegee or wet/dry vacuum
- Neutralizer or pH balancer
- Wax or finish
- Applicator or mop
- Safety equipment (gloves, goggles, and boots)
Prepare the area:
- Remove all furniture, rugs, and obstacles from the floor.
- Close off the area to prevent accidental access.
- Post warning signs to inform others about the ongoing work.
Dust and sweep the floor:
- Use a broom or dust mop to remove loose dirt, dust, and debris from the floor surface.
- Pay extra attention to corners, edges, and hard-to-reach areas.
Dilute the floor stripper:
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions to dilute the floor stripper properly.
- Use a clean bucket and mix the stripper with water according to the recommended ratio.
Apply the floor stripper:
- Pour the diluted floor stripper onto a small section of the floor.
- Allow the stripper to dwell on the floor for the recommended amount of time (usually 10-15 minutes) to soften the existing wax or finish.
Scrub the floor:
- Use a scrubbing pad or brush attached to a floor buffer or scrubbing machine to agitate the floor surface.
- Work in small sections, scrubbing in a back-and-forth or circular motion to loosen the wax or finish.
- Pay attention to corners and edges that may require extra scrubbing.
Remove the stripper and old wax:
- Use a squeegee or wet/dry vacuum to remove the stripper and dissolved wax from the floor.
- Ensure that all residue is thoroughly removed, as any remaining wax can interfere with the new finish.
Neutralize the floor:
- Dilute a neutralizer or pH balancer according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Apply the neutralizer solution to the floor to balance the pH and remove any remaining residue from the stripper.
Rinse and dry the floor:
- Rinse the floor with clean water to remove any leftover neutralizer or residue.
- Use a wet/dry vacuum or mop to remove excess water from the floor.
- Allow the floor to dry completely before applying the new wax or finish.
Apply the wax or finish:
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions to apply the chosen wax or finish.
- Pour a small amount of wax into a clean bucket and use an applicator or mop to apply an even layer to the floor surface.
- Allow the wax to dry according to the recommended drying time.
- Apply additional coats of wax if desired, allowing each coat to dry between applications.
